Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Draw a Radius (drawaradius.com) does and does not do with information when you use the site. The short version: the points, radii and shapes you draw stay in your browser except when you deliberately search an address or use your device's location, our host keeps ordinary server logs briefly, and advertising and analytics cookies are used only in the ways described here, with a way to refuse each.

What you draw or type into a tool

Clicking the map, pasting coordinates, and every radius or label you type is processed entirely in your browser; nothing is saved to or sent to our servers, and there are no accounts. The Draw a Radius tool's shareable link encodes your circles directly in the page's own URL (readable by anyone you send that link to, the same as any URL) -- it is never transmitted to or stored by us. Close the tab, or don't share the link, and it is gone.

Address search and location

When you type an address into a tool's search box, that text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service (a third party, not operated by us) to look up matching coordinates, subject to Nominatim's own usage policy and privacy practices. We don't see or store what you search. When you click "use my location," your device's location is read via your browser's Geolocation API only after you explicitly click that button, used to center the map, and never sent to our servers or any third party -- it stays on your device.

What our servers record

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request logs (the page requested, your IP address, browser type, referring page, and time) to operate and secure the service. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors, and they are retained only for a short period under Vercel's privacy policy.

Cookies and consent

The site itself sets no cookies to function. Two categories of third-party tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers:

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites. Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads here; their cookies and identifiers are subject to their own policies.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices (United States) or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe). How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Analytics

We use two tools to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited and where visitors come from. Google Analytics 4 runs subject to the consent rules above; it is configured with IP anonymisation and we do not enable advertising features or user-level identifiers. Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless: it counts page views without setting any identifier on your device and without personal data, so it does not require consent. Neither tool is used to build a profile of you, and neither one ever sees the coordinates, radii or shapes you draw into a calculator -- those never leave your browser except when you explicitly search an address or share a link, as described above.

Email you send us

If you email us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and resolve the matter, then delete it. We do not add you to any list.

Children

Draw a Radius is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because the site holds almost nothing about you, most requests are simple. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data we hold, and to withdraw consent at any time (use the cookie notice or your browser settings; ad choices are at the links above). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion; we do not sell personal information, and opting out of personalised ads is how you exercise the "do not share" choice for advertising cookies. If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here for at least 30 days.
