Using this site
Draw a Radius provides free map tools -- a radius drawer, a distance calculator, preset mile-radius rings, a coordinates converter, and a polygon area calculator -- for educational and informational use. No account or sign-up is required, and there is no charge to use any page on this site.
Not a routing or navigation service
Every distance and radius on this site is "as the crow flies" -- a straight-line, great-circle geometric calculation between coordinates. This site does not calculate driving directions, drive time, walking routes, or any real-world travel path, and the true travel distance or time between two points is almost always longer than the straight-line distance shown here. Do not use this site for navigation.
Estimates, not a survey
Every distance, radius, area and perimeter on this site is computed from the latitude/longitude coordinates you provide -- clicked on a map, typed by hand, or looked up from an address search -- using standard geodesic formulas (see the About page for exact citations). These are geometric estimates, not a licensed land survey, and address lookups depend on a third-party geocoding service that may itself be imprecise. Do not rely on any figure from this site for a legal property boundary, a construction or engineering plan, aviation or maritime navigation, or any decision where a survey-grade or certified measurement is required.
No affiliation
Draw a Radius is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, Google, or any mapping, navigation, or geospatial data provider.
No warranty
This site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use of any tool or content on this site is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Draw a Radius and its operator are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its content.
